The congregation of Virgin Almudena (a female patron saint) seek the permission of the archdiocese of Toledo to build a new cathedral which the archdiocese allowed.
As you know the construction of Almudena Cathedral underwent various rescheduling until it was dedicated in 1993. The final design of the cathedral was made by Marques de Cubas and he worked so earnestly to achieve a neo gothic cathedral design.
